With
this quote in mind, the organizing committee set forth with one of the
most coveted events of our institution, Sarla Birla Gyan Jyoti Guwahati Intra Model
United Nations.For the year 2017, the motto "wartorn" was decided upon
with four well thought out committees:Historic Security Council, Counter
Terrorism Committee, Lok Sabha and International Press Corps. This
event was a wonderful platform for young students of our school to
procure knowledge about current affairs and inculcate the art of
diplomacy.
SBGMUN'17 commenced with a bang; the
Secretary General having declared the MUN open after a spectacular
opening ceremony. The three days of the MUN saw an altogether different
facet of our students . The enthusiastic delegates debated, deliberated,
and stepped into the shoes of proficient diplomats. On the second day,
the delegates grasped the opportunity to let lose and dance their hearts
out during the socials. An immense amount of dedication and hardwork
had gone into making this MUN a success and the closing ceremony
provided an opportunity to appreciate the faces behind the curtain. Last
but not the least, the best performing delegates were recognized and
awarded certificates by our very own Principal ma'am. The SBGMUN'17
truly was an event to remember and cherish.
